A Mayor Celebrating a Meaningless Victory Cheered on by Talking Gullible Followers

I gotta tell you, Tuesday night’s City Council meeting gave me such hope about Monroe! The city is doing so well that our mayor, and the guy controlling him like a puppet, were able to spend hours composing a resolution that…promised to keep doing what the city is already doing. 

Thank God there aren’t more pressing issues to attend to!

In yet another masterful performance of time wasting, the mayor’s handler crafted a resolution stating that Monroe’s law enforcement agencies will abide by federal law. Great! Sweet! Wait. Weren’t they already doing that? Yes. Yes they were. A point made continuously by Councilwoman Anthony.

But, despite it's benign effect, it gave the mayor’s fans something to stand up and cheer about. Grandstanding nonsense is the name of their game and this came on the heels of the mayor’s last resolution that tried to make all the drag shows at East Frank eighteen and up. Again, something that East Frank has already done. In order to continue to distract from their lack of accomplishing...well...anything else these performative issues must remain at the forefront of the mayor's agenda.

Remember when the council voted unanimously to make homelessness illegal? Nobody is putting up anything to undo that heartless monstrosity. Record numbers at the food pantries and yet for two meetings in a row, our mayor and his klan are focused on performances that aren’t worthy of an Oscar, much less a Golden Globe. 

The mayor calls anyone who opposes him "the far left". No, it's not. It's not even the left. The mayor is being opposed by people who miss a time when the city council were working towards a common goal...Monroe. He calls out Republicans for disloyalty to him. Well, in this day and age, disloyalty to the mayor is loyalty to the City of Monroe. We applaud any member of the council or community working to put the mayor back on track for all of our residents.

I hope our citizens are paying attention to this nonsense. Ineffective leadership is what will keep Monroe from succeeding not made up issues by fake Christians who ignore real sexual predators in our community to focus on the ones they’ve made up in their heads. 

Eighteen percent voter turnout could have prevented these ill-equipped, unqualified, and malicious folks from ever holding office.
