The Cowardly Mayor

It's official! The mayor is tucking his tail between his legs and running away!

First of all, let's start off by saying that he was always going to run away from Monroe, probably with bags of cash, to run for higher office. That was always the plan. You don't spend your weekends, traveling around the state to make speeches if you're going to run (or serve) in Monroe. This has always been the plan, but it's been moved up a year due to his own deceptions.

Mayor Whiny Britches can now have a new nickname, The Cowardly Mayor! Once Pat Kahle announced her bid for the mayoral race, he knew he had to pivot. No way could he compete with her; a grounded, common sense conservative whose sole priority would be to improving the lives of Monrovians, not sowing division and hate.

Recently a video of our favorite council candidate, Michelle, was shown to me. Of course I can't see it on her page because she's blocked me. I'm sure it's part of her "transparency" campaign promise. In the video Michelle mentions that she had never even heard of Pat Kahle until she filed to run. And this should be a HUGE red flag to what kind of carpet-bagging nonsense that group is bringing to Monroe. The ignorance of not knowing who Pat is should be an immediate disqualifier and indicates Michelle's unwillingness to work with people within the city and county. If you don't know who Pat is, you're out of touch and living in a hate bubble. Get out and touch grass. Remember, the vast majority of Monrovians do know who Pat is and she has already been endorsed by the last two mayors of Monroe from both sides of the aisle.

But let's get back to what's next for the mayor. He's still got a full year of tearing up our community. I think the best part of being who we are is watching all the businesses in downtown Monroe start to shift on Good Old Boy Burns. Whatever he has planned next, it's clear that this has nothing to do with small businesses and making "main street" better. He'll cater to the rich folks, the corporations, and the individuals who are followers of his particular brand of hate-filled religion*.

So, as we bid farewell to the Cowardly Mayor, please take a minute to think about how we can defeat his trident of stupidity running for council and what you'd like to do in the community to begin the healing process. We're looking forward to the coming months, interviewing candidates to make well-informed endorsements, and building our coalition of free spirited individuals so that we can put the Fun back in Funroe!
