Sharia Law Is Coming… Any Day Now (According to That One Guy on Facebook)
If you haven’t been paying attention, the latest fearmongering phrase being thrown around is “Sharia Law”. Our own Congressional Representative, Mark Harris, best known for participating in the largest election fraud scheme in modern times, has even signed on to the “Sharia Free America Caucus”.
“I know in my own community, in my own district in the last couple of weeks, I’ve had several mayors that have actually contacted my office because there are plans that are being made to build large mosques right there in their own communities,” Harris said in a network broadcast interview. “All of these, are in quiet suburbs around and outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. I think it’s something to be aware of. We want to be able to protect everyone’s freedom to exercise their faith. But I think we’ve got to be very clear about what we’re dealing with when we talk about radical Islam.”

Gee, I wonder which mayor contacted him about being scared of Muslim people in their community…
Did anyone see anything other than “building a mosque” as the reason for his discrimination? He mentioned zero crimes committed by Muslims and how the mosque they attended was a contributing factor. One may argue that there were probably more Christian terrorists operating in the United States than Muslim terrorists. Ultimately “radicalism” is not an inherent property of either religion but a behavioral and ideological shift that occurs when individuals or groups reject mainstream norms to pursue extreme political or social change through faith. Radical Islamism can be “justified” by someone because of their distorted concept of Jihad. For a radical Christian, it’s most likely linked to white supremacy.
Let’s take a pause here to define some of these phrases being thrown around…because Robert Burns sure as hell doesn’t know what they mean.
Jihad: The larger use of the word, especially within the Muslim community, has nothing to do with violence. Rather it is a “spiritual striving against moral failings”, as an internal struggle, or “sharing faith through speech, writing, or persuasive debate” as folks turn their religion outwards. Again, extremists have their own interpretation, but that is not the accepted, wide-spread use of the word.
Islam: a monotheistic religion centered on the belief in one God (Allah) and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. It is based on the holy book called the Qur'an, which Muslims believe is the literal word of God. Followers of Islam, known as Muslims, practice their faith through the Five Pillars of Islam, which include prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage. Islam emphasizes submission to God, moral conduct, and compassion toward others as central principles of life.
Muslims, the followers of Islam worship the same God a Christian does, they just believe that Jesus was a prophet, but not divine. Christian’s, of course, believe that Jesus was the son of God and divine.
Now the fun one…Sharia Law…
Sharia law is a broad term for the moral, ethical, and legal guidance derived from Islamic sources, primarily the Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. It covers things like prayer, charity, family, life, contracts, and personal behavior. In some Muslim majority countries parts of it are incorporated into the legal systems. However, for Muslims living in other countries, like the United States, it functions as a personal religious guidance and has nothing to do with governance.
In U.S. politics, some politicians have framed Sharia law as a looming threat, claiming it could replace or override the Constitution. In reality, there is no credible pathway for religious law of any kind (Islamic, Christian, or otherwise) to supersede U.S. law, due to constitutional protections like the separation of church and state. Although we have seen attacks on non-Christians from our representatives, stay tuned on how that works out for us. Just look at the actions Burns has taken since he’s been in office to force us into his way of perverted thinking.
The “I Can’t Use My Brain Caucus” or whatever the anti-Muslim group in Congress is called, is just trying to stir up more fear. They do it with trans folks, they did it with immigrants, and now they're attacking Muslims as well. It’s political pandering, it’s committed by the stupidest people we know, and yes…it’s reached Monroe.
Here’s Michelle Ball putting her full ass on display.

It's refreshing for Michelle to change up her schtick for even a moment. Still no plan on taxes, roads, commercial endeavors, sidewalks, the homeless, the hungry, zoning, land use, water usage, utility prices, public safety (real, not imaginary), economic development, public health, and social services. But she can sure as hell latch on to the latest fearmongering craze! All buzzwords included!
Look, I get it. Many people out there strictly follow their party’s candidates when voting. We’ve made a LOT of headway in the community getting people who lean right to push back against the Burns agenda. The more we get, the more those folks will feel comfortable speaking up in their circles.
As always, I’m banned from following most of these folks. They’re dumb. I can’t stress this enough. There is no point in entering a debate with Michelle, Burns, or any of their followers. They’re just dumb.
If you’re not blocked, please take a minute to report Michelle’s page for hate speech. And if you have another minute, don’t forget to write to the council and remind them that they should not be getting more Flock cameras if they can’t afford to fund things like the homeless shelter or the Humane Society. As a matter of fact, I know where you can get $10k…sue the asshole mayor who had a campaign rally disguised as a memorial for a podcaster…
